Moving On From Narcissism

May I take this opportunity to congratulate myself for passing my Major Theory Essay.  Well if this is not a casing example of 'self admiration', the very thing I have been researching and writing about for the past six months,  I don't quite know what is.  Would it surprise you if I said I was s....... myself waiting for my assessment results?  Joking aside, it does really matter having two papers to prepare this year to move on to some interesting work in the community in mental health, wellbeing and safeguarding vulnerable individuals.  This is a 'far cry' from where I was a year ago taking volumeous calls in a call-centre that almost drove 'me' mad.

So, where am I now?  I guess on the road to finding my true potential.  With the view that the average person only uses around 5% of their potential in their life time and presumably if one uses near to 25% one is a genius it seems like I may have some work to do.  I must say though, that knowing an ideal percentage gives me a guide and has somehow inspired me to aim higher.  Interestingly I have taken an interest in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) lately.  Well as far as the programming bit, I am turning into a bit of a human computer, that is, garbage in, garbage out, listening to CDs for hours on end, taking in the valuable instructions of how to master the various techniques and interventions to model people like Grinder and Bandler and those that they modelled like Pavlov, Satir, Erickson and Pearls.

Well there is not anything that can prevent me from additional research, so I have been reading up on Erickson and Pearls and I have been thorougly entertained with their stories in the form of anecdotes, metaphors and drama with an empty chair.  As this is all preparatory work, I am quite looking forward to my visit to Hunton Park at the Devere Hotel, a late home of Queen Anne, to actually do the course to perfect the modelling of these collective experts.

From what I understand NLP is an excellent tool in the world of business, especially in building rapport and matching the needs of the client in negotiations through the use of sensory atuitory, that is, our 5 senses; hearing, visual eye patterns, smell, taste and feelings.  After a month of intensive revision the theory is starting to make sense.
